New Head of Consumer Health Care at Merck

Merck has appointed Udit Batra as the new Head of the Consumer Health Care Division in Germany.

He will succeed Peter Shotter, who has decided to leave the company at the end of the year.

Stefan Oschmann, Executive Board Member of Merck, stated that Mr Batra’s priorities will include “ensuring continued growth of strategic consumer healthcare brands and developing a promising pipeline to secure future success” for the company.

Mr Batra joins from Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics in Boston, USA, where he currently works as Head of Global Public Health and Market Access.

Merck Consumer Health Care is among the top 20 global consumer healthcare companies.

The Division specialises in the health care of women and children, cough and cold treatments as well as products to support everyday health and agility.
